Questions about Past Lives

I recently received an email from a person with fascinating questions on reincarnation - here’s an excerpt and my answer:

“I had a brief question on your view on reincarnation. I am a brain injury patient who is gathering information for a possible book on disabilities. I was born a normal person but had an accident which caused brain damage. Anyway my question is whether this type of condition carries over from life to life or whether someone will be born as a normal human being again after a life where they had a disability. If someone has a disability in one life do they have it the next time. Has anyone had any past lives where they were impaired in some way, what was that like, then were they born a normal person again the next time. Can someone be retarded one time, average another, brilliant another. I was wondering if it is possible to get a future life reading and find out if you can look at possible future lifetimes and find out if they will be as a whole normal regular human being again with no disabilities.”

Thanks for writing - those are great questions! What I’ve found after nearly 30 years of working in this field is that we use each lifetime as an opportunity for lots of lessons, experiences, chances to learn new skills or perfect them, and of course the opportunity to be with other beloved Souls.

It’s like choosing a college - before you decide on which one, you think about what you’re interested in learning, who you want to do it with, and what it might cost you. So if you’re looking to learn something really hard, with intense study but great promise of reward, you’ll pick a certain school. Or, if you’re more interested in finding friends and maybe your future mate, you’ll pick a different school. Maybe you want to just be getting better at your skills, and looking for like minded people. In any case, you can also change your mind, or go to more than one school, etc.

That’s how I see the various lifetimes - each life and life experience presents us with vehicles for learning. An injury such as yours has given you infinite opportunities to learn self love, love and appreciation for others, self knowledge and awareness - just look at your questions here - with the thought of writing a book and helping others - who knows if you would have done this if you hadn’t had all this happen to you? You’ve no doubt learned to appreciate the people in your life in a whole new way, and to appreciate your body and your health differently. Perhaps new skills have emerged, or you’ve had to discover hidden strengths in yourself.

So, to answer your question - you very likely did not ever have quite this same thing happen to you in other lifetimes; however, that being said, I’ve often seen a pattern in people’s lifetimes where the use of pain, conflict, physical problems (or emotional ones), or other “soap operas” are used over and over again. It seems like the Soul says “Hmm, this worked in 2 other lifetimes to get good results, so let’s try it again!” And certainly, we travel over and over with the same Souls, who are our Soulmates, to love and help each other each time. (And sometimes the most loving thing in a certain “soap opera” will be to hurt that person, or leave them, or cheat on them - whatever!).

In future lifetimes, the same will be true - as a Soul contemplating your next life, you’ll say to yourself - “Gee, I’m still not very good at being compassionate, or humble, or having high self esteem, so what vehicle would work for me to get those lessons?” And so you’ll pick a family, a gender, a time period, and whatever else will help you achieve your goals. So yes, you could very likely be born healthy and whole, or you could be born with a handicap of some sort. It’s whatever will be the most efficient vehicle for learning and experiencing things.

The thing to remember, actually 2 things, are: The Soul doesn’t care about the short term - it knows it’s eternal and will live again and again, so whatever happens in one lifetime is no different than us saying - well, it’s only 4 years of college, I can live with whatever happens! The second thing is that there are no accidents - we are the creators of our Universe, just as I’m describing here. So at some level of your Being, you needed and wanted your accident to happen for a definite reason (or lots of reasons) to take you further in this lifetime than you would have gone otherwise - according to your Soul’s definition!! Obviously, that’s way different than what you consciously would have wanted, but like I said, the Soul doesn’t look at it that way!

I hope this gives you an idea of how I see it! I’d love to read you some time - we could look into other lifetimes to see if there’s a pattern, and find out why your Soul chose this vehicle for learning in this lifetime. Then we could also look at future lives, but I find those the hardest to pin down, because what you do in this lifetime will effect your future choices - just like our example of the colleges! If you do well in one college, it will make a difference as to what you do after that! Same with this lifetime - you’ll have learned a great deal, so what might be the next choice for your Soul as of the date of your reading, might not be the ultimate choice your Soul makes 10 or 20 or 50 years later.

More About Mirrors…

I had a very interesting talk with an old client and friend who is having trouble getting her head around her child’s choice of a homosexual lifestyle. She feels that it’s so unnatural and personally repulsive that she can’t possibly accept her child’s new life partner or the lifestyle changes involved. At the same time, she lamented that this same child had never forgiven her for the long-ago divorce that divided the family. It was suddenly so clear to me that the mirror (the lesson needing to be learned) was the lack of acceptance and unconditional love for the PERSON involved, NOT for the ACTION! How many times do we see that being the stumbling block - we hate or dislike or disapprove of the thing, or the action, or the end result, but we take it out on the person behind it - in effect, killing the messenger when we don’t like the message! As we came to see in our discussion, it didn’t really matter if she never came to an agreement about the lifestyle choice - she didn’t have to ever come to like it - she just had to remember her priorities, which of course were her child’s happiness and that her child know and feel her unconditional love. After all, wasn’t that what she’d been wanting from her child regarding the divorce?

This was a big eye-opener for me some years ago, when Marianne Williamson, author of “A Return to Love” and other books based on the Course in Miracles, spoke on how our parents often made us feel like bad children, totally unworthy and unlovable, when it was our behavior that they were railing against, not us as people. Unfortunately, my mother in particular was unaware of this distinction, and thus my entire life (so far at least!) has been about trying to be loved and accepted for myself, as I am. As Marianne said, we were made to feel that our worth was in our actions, not that we were worthy of love and validation just for being ourselves, even when our actions were not positive. So, my lifelong “bad girl” traits (being fat, stubborn, lazy, whatever) have made me feel that the person I am is never good enough to be loved, because the label equated with my supposed value, instead of just being lovable by virtue of existing! And of course, my subconscious child-self will perpetuate that very same bad behavior or trait endlessly in order to see if anyone will ever love me in spite of it!

As I’ve said, I firmly believe that all our lessons, and everything we need to know to improve or love or accept ourselves, is shown to us in the people and events in our life. Our mirrors are ever present, as the Universal laws cause them to be, so that we will always have the answers whenever we’re ready to receive them. Knowing my mother as well as I did, I know that she had the same issues with her mother that I had with her. And if I don’t see them in my own life in this moment, I can choose to learn from my friend’s experience - her mirror is in MY face for a reason, too! That revelation was for both of us, for sure! I always say that I get my own best reading by giving one to someone else - whatever “stuff” is going on with them that day, it will certainly pertain to me as well - because we’re mirrors! There are just no accidents in the Universe, of this I am convinced…

Universal Laws

My most enduring passion over the years, working in this New Age field, is the study and use of the Universal Laws, as I understand them. These are the immutable laws that govern all of us, whether we believe in them or even know about them! The Law of Cause and Effect is the most compelling to me - that what we do is exactly what will be done to us, or what we sow is what we reap. It’s so clear and unfortunately, often slaps me in the face, that if I’m suffering from something unpleasant or unfair or in any way negative, that this is a direct result of something that I’ve done! Of course, it’s also true that when good things happen, it’s because that’s what I’ve been putting out there. So, for example, when we are generous or patient or helpful, we find that others are that way to us. But, as I so often find, when I’m NOT patient (just about always!) or if I’m too hasty or not cautious, it REALLY comes back to haunt me!

To me, though, the most interesting aspect is the Law that says Like Attracts Like (and unlike repels). So, not only what you DO will draw the same to you, but what you ARE will draw the same to you! This is so interesting when we see someone we just love, they’re so funny or smart or kind or whatever. That’s US! We can only see in others what WE ourselves ARE! It’s really hard sometimes to realize that those are our qualities that we are seeing reflected in the mirrors of other people around us. And of course, the negative qualities - the very impatience, or intolerance, or lack of love - that’s us, too, I’m afraid! That’s where the Universe has really given us a great Tool to work on ourselves with - to find out for certain where our blocks are, where we need to be more self loving, and where we need to be accepting and non judgmental of others, for it’s only ourselves that we’re judging.

What do you think? Please post your comments!

Review: Tarot.com

I just wanted to mention that I found that Tarot.com has a number of great opportunities to have a free reading using the Tarot cards (all different decks) as well as the I Ching, etc. I did a reading for myself using the Universal Waite deck and found it to be extremely accurate. You get to choose your cards, while thinking of your questions, and the syncronicity of the Universe will assure that you get the right cards for your answer! I’m always impressed by this, whether the reading is over the phone or in person or like this, on the computer, it still proves that there are no accidents in the Universe, everything is meant to be! I recommend Tarot.com for both free and paid readings, so check it out! (Oh, and remember - I give readings too! Write me or call 315 247 9088 for more information!)

Are You in Transition?

We all go through changes, and major transition is often chaotic and overwhelming. However, sometimes the more subtle changes can be just as bad, and yet are every bit as important. I’m talking about little things - maybe you’re not changing jobs, but you have a new boss, or new hours, or they expect you to learn new things. Or maybe you’re not moving, but you’ve had a grown child come to live at home again, or a new baby arrives. Maybe it’s just a new pet! Whatever the smaller changes might be, they are still a sign that you’re ready to grow and expand on the real You, the Self that is constantly working on getting better and happier and more evolved. So, if like me, you’re experiencing anything like this now - or maybe even the more fun type of transition, like a new boyfriend, your first cruise, or losing 10 lbs and wearing a new size - take full credit for being ready for change and embracing whatever it represents. The bottom line is, it always represents your own self love and self respect, either because you are openly doing something wonderful for yourself, or because you must be forced to love yourself more by getting out of a bad situation. Either way, it’s growt - it’s a Good Thing as Martha would say!

Question about Letting Go

Here’s a question someone posted to the comment section, which I thought I’d like to have appear on the blog page:

Anonymous said…

Dear Debbie,

Someone recently told me that I wasn’t getting what I wanted because I was hanging on too tightly to what I want to happen. They said that I should “release” what I was hanging on to and it would then manifest. Interesting concept but I don’t get HOW you’re supposed to do that. Why does letting go of what you want, bring you what you want? And HOW do you let go? Help!

That’s a great question! Yes, one of the most frustrating pieces of advice is to “Let go” but sometimes that’s a lot easier said than done, isn’t it? The best way that I can picture it is just like when you’re holding something tight in your hand - imagine holding a penny with your hand clasped tightly around it in a fist. Now - you can’t pay for anything with that penny until it leaves your hand, right? You literally have to let go of it, release it, hand it over in order for it serve you and bring you what you want.

It’s the same with our other desires - if you’re holding onto them too tightly, you can’t get them to produce the end result you’re seeking.

So if you’re holding on to the idea “I want that job” or “I want that man” or whatever, the Universe can’t manifest that end result until you release the thought. When we obsess about it, think about it all the time, talk about it endlessly, worry about it, lay awake at night replaying it in our minds, we’re clasping it so tightly to us, just like the penny in your fist, that nothing can come to us regarding it.

So I literally picture myself giving the desire to the Universe (or to God, if you like) by opening my hands and thinking or saying something like “Here, take it, make it happen! I release it and let it go, bring me what I want”. In fact, by doing that, now your hands are open to receive! If they’re still clasped tight, holding the penny, you can’t receive anything, right? So open yourself and release whatever the desire is, not only so the Universe can bring it to you once you’ve handed it over, but also so that your hands are open and ready to receive.

It’s like giving your order to the waiter in the restaurant. When we order what we want for dinner, we hand it over to the waiter. We don’t sit there just thinking about it, holding it to ourselves - we voice it and give it to him to make it happen. We also have the complete faith and confidence that the food will arrive as requested, cooked to our liking and as described. That element of faith and trust is also important - in fact, they say that’s an integral part of manifesting what you want.

There’s an actual formula for manifesting your desires:

First, have the idea of what it is.

Second, feel the burning desire for it.

Third, release it to the Universe for manifestation.

Finally, expect it to come to you with faith and confidence, and gratitude for it’s arrival.

I’ll talk more about this whole idea next time! Hope this is helpful!

Psychic Fair Notes…

Not much time today, it’s Day Two of the Syracuse Psychic Fair and I’m running around trying to get ready to leave. Yesterday was a very quiet day, which is something I wanted to mention to newcomers to the Fairs - if you want to have the best result, try to attend during off-peak times. This particular Fair starts at 11 on Friday morning, so all during the day is rather quiet since most people are at work. Furthermore, the weather here was not great, so that kept more people at home, even after work (it’s open until 10 at night). So for the people who did come, it was quiet, private, and I was as fresh as a daisy! My next recommendation is to try to be there first thing - in other words, I wouldn’t recommend being the very last reading of the day! Not that I don’t always give my best, but hey, I’m only human, and after nearly 12 hours, I’m going to be a bit tired! And by the third day, at the end of that day - well, you can imagine!

In any case, I hope you’ll attend a Fair some time, as it’s fun, informative and definitely different!

Have you ever been to a Psychic Fair?

Today through Sunday (Feb 17-19) I’ll be working at a big Psychic Fair here in Syracuse, and thought I’d write about it today. For me, it’s a mix of excitement and anticipation, with a touch of dread! Well, of course I’m excited, because it’s a lot of fun - I’ll end up reading between 75 and 85 people, which is a lot of readings - and it’s great to meet up with old friends and see their wares and talk about things we’re all interested in. I love meeting new people, and indeed, just love people watching, which is easy to do there since it’s very well attended - usually wall-to-wall people! Besides the readers there are people selling books, crystals, herbs, jewelry and aura photos, massages and Reiki healings. The dread comes in because it really is a very long weekend - from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. both Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. It’s tiring, and somewhat hard on the body from sitting on those hotel chairs all weekend! But still, it’s a good time, and I’m always very grateful for the opportunity.

This is a wonderful way for someone who has never had a reading to get a taste for it - you can walk around, look at everyone’s information (we all have flyers and brochures, and are very willing to answer any questions) and you can attend lectures, etc. I always recommend that you walk around a few times, get a feeling for a person or booth that draws your attention, read their literature, then sit and observe that person in action, giving a reading. Try to notice how their client reacts, are they engaged, does it seem that they are happy with the reading? Don’t hesitate to ask the person after they leave the booth how they liked it.

There are many different prices and options at the fairs - not only can you try all the different types of readings, from a channeled reading like mine to tarot cards, palmistry, astrology, etc., but you can get a general reading, past lives, and other specifics. You can also spend less or more, from “Readers Row” which is a bare bones reading from someone who has not purchased a booth, and therefore gives a shorter reading for less money at a price set by the Fair promoter, or a short or long reading from a boothholder who can charge anything they wish. All prices are posted by the readers, as well as the things they accept such as checks or charge cards, and if a tape is included. (For my readings, for example, I will accept cash, checks or charge, and the tape is included.)

People often ask me about the privacy factor, and what I tell them is that it turns out that no one can really hear us, especially because the noise around us acts sort of like a barrier. However, you can of course be seen, and your reactions can be noted by others, if that’s a concern to you. For example, I often find that people get emotional during my readings, since we’re tuning into departed loved ones, or other topics that are close to the heart. If you’d rather be in a more private setting for this, then it’s best to have your reading at my office! On the other hand, you would not be alone if you shed a tear or two, it’s a very common occurrence at the fairs. We laugh a lot, as well!

If you’d like to come visit us, it’s at the Holiday Inn on Electronics Parkway in Liverpool, NY, which is at the corner of 7th North Street, or take Thruway Exit 37. Be sure to stop by my booth and say hello!

How To Have A Reading

I know that sounds funny, how to have a reading, but there are certain things that I recommend you do and don’t do to make sure your experience is a positive one! First, there is the common misconception that you shouldn’t give the reader your name, or at least not your whole name. While I personally don’t care and don’t ask for your whole name, unless you want to be on my mailing list, it shouldn’t be something you need to be afraid of giving out (unless you’re paranoid about it, in which case you don’t need a psychic, you need a psychiatrist! LOL!) Basically, this was an idea from years and years ago, that a psychic or fortune teller would be able to look you up in the area by your name, or ask around about you, and then act as if they had psychically gotten information about you. I suppose in the old days this was possible, especially as the readers might actually be with a circus or carnival coming to town, and the scout would go ahead of their arrival to put up signs and drum up business. However, nowadays, I’ve never heard of anything like this happening - it’s just not necessary! If you’re going to be conned or scammed by a so-called psychic, they are so good at what they’re doing that they don’t even need to look up information about you. And a real psychic doesn’t need to do this, either!

The next myth I’d like to “bust” is that you shouldn’t give anything away during the reading, such as answering the reader’s comments, or nodding or shaking your head. Some people sit there like a stone, masterfully hiding any response at all and barely even breathing! Again, the psychic isn’t basing what they get on your words or actions, if they’re for real. Furthermore, I personally find it very difficult to proceed with someone acting so strangely and often ask them to take a deep breath and relax! Your stress and tension is going to keep you from hearing everything I’m saying, and keep you from enjoying your reading, or even from getting much of the advice given - you’ll be too preoccupied with your own response. Your comments, such as “Yes”, “No”, “I don’t understand” or whatever, are certainly helpful in making the information flow better for the reader. If you respond one way or the other, the reader knows to follow that line of thought, that the information they’re receiving is accurate and fruitful, or that they should dig deeper or ask for more clarification and guidance if it’s not ringing true for you.

Conversely, please don’t start your reading by giving all your information up front! Again, I personally will immediately ask you to stop speaking and let me talk first, as I don’t want you to tell me too much. Not only does this possibly color something I might receive, but you could easily walk away later feeling cheated, that I wasn’t getting information for you psychically. Along these lines, then, if you have something that’s of paramount importance, you would certainly be correct to let the reader know in advance that you have a topic that is definitely the first thing you’d like to discuss. I will often ask in advance of a mini-reading (only 15 minutes long) if there’s a special subject that you’d like to cover, since the time passes so quickly. If not, then I’ll go down my track of covering all the major aspects that are coming up for you. But if your romance, or career, or dear departed loved one are the main reason for having a reading that day, I want to know that, so that I don’t waste time or energy on other things. (And you can tell me in that very general way - not giving away too much!)

So relax and enjoy - every reader is different, and some want you to interact, while others would rather you didn’t. Sometimes you’re asked to shuffle cards, and sometimes not. It’s best not to touch anything without permission, such as cards or crystals. Wait for the reader to give you your cue, but definitely make yourself comfortable. Hopefully, you’ve got questions, which I personally really appreciate, but other readers would rather not allow. I find it’s easier for me to have you ask your question right then, while we’re on that topic, but others might have you wait until the end of the reading. Also, I’m always taping your reading, so you don’t need to take notes, but sometimes people would rather take notes or the reader isn’t providing a tape. This is something you should find out in advance, and bring whatever you need with you. I also advise writing down your questions in advance, too, since people tend to forget things once they’re actually sitting for the reading.

If you find yourself a good 10 minutes into the reading and still don’t feel that the reader is tuned into you, by all means stop the reader and let them know this. If you tell them that you don’t feel they are giving you any information that sounds accurate, they may try to tune in differently, or have you ask specific questions, or ask if you’d like to stop the reading. You have every right to stand up and ask for the reading to end, and in most cases, you should not be charged. However, bear in mind that you are paying for the reader’s TIME, not the INFORMATION! This is a major distinction which many people fail to understand. It’s no different than seeing a doctor or lawyer who doesn’t actually help you or have the answer to your problem - you still have to pay them for their time! However, most readers are very quick to not charge if you’re unhappy, because your goodwill and comfort level are very important, and frankly, it’s just good business. But, if you’ve taken up the entire session, without responding, without letting them know that anything’s amiss, be prepared to pay for the session, or at least offer to, and see what the reader says.

Also, bear in mind that much of what the reader is talking about is in the future - that’s probably why you’re having a reading, is to find out what’s coming up for you. So you may well feel that they’re dead wrong in that moment, and then days or weeks, or even months or years later, the reading comes true! This has happened to just about everyone who’s ever had a reading - they’ll walk out thinking I’m crazy, and then that very thing that was so unlikely actually happens! I love getting that feedback!

And giving feedback is a wonderful thing - in any business! But in this business, so many times we never know the end of the story! I’m so grateful when someone calls or writes, or comes to see me again and lets me know how it turned out, or that my reading gave them the insight or information they needed in a certain moment of their lives. And of course, the best thing is when you refer your friends and family - that’s the finest compliment of all!

What type of reading should you have?

There are many types of readings you can choose from, and a lot depends on the type of information and guidance you’re looking for. For example, if you want to know more about yourself and your personality, skills, talents and challenges in this lifetime, you could choose to have your astrology chart done, or you could have a numerology reading, both of which are geared towards explanation and illumination of your traits and characteristics. They are based upon your birthdate and time of birth, for astrology, or the numbers that your name and birthdate add up to in the case of numerology. Because the astrological signs and the numbers have been given specific meanings, or interpretations, these readings are considered to be somewhat more logical or rational, even scientific, rather than being as abstract as psychic readings. With clairvoyance (clear seeing), clairaudience (clear hearing), and clairsentience (clear feeling) being used in a psychic or channeled reading, there is little that is scientific or logical - it’s all subjective and strongly open to interpretation by the reader. Not that astrologers and numerologists aren’t interpreting what they are getting, but they still are able to base their interpretations on something other than a feeling!

This is also true of readers who use other tools, such as Tarot cards, which tell a story that is true of each card, separate from the psychic’s impressions, or palmistry, wherein the lines of the palm already have a given meaning. Other types of “scientific” readings can include the I Ching or Runes, which are readings based upon symbols that have been given meanings, that are chosen seemingly at random by the Seeker. (Of course, we believe that there is no such thing as “random” but that there is a cause and effect to every action!)

You can then move into the more abstract type readings, when you are seeking information pertaining to others, or the past or future, including predictions and prophecies, or past lives, Spirit Guides, the deceased, etc. These readings, such as a Channeled reading like I give, or a reading based on Psychometry, which is the reading of an object that contains the vibration of a person, animal, or event (including a Billet Reading, which is the reading of words or a name on a piece of paper), are generally much more abstract and unstructured, based solely on impressions, feelings, visions and such, and are thus not considered to be in any way scientific.

Many readers use or at least know how to use many or most of these tools, myself included, but we find early in our careers that one or two become the method of choice. I had started out in my teens using the Tarot cards, but found after become a Medium that what I was receiving psychically or through my mediumship would often contradict what the cards were saying, so I had to make the choice to trust one or the other - I chose to “trust my gut” as they say, and the rest is history!

Can Anyone Be Read?

Yes, absolutely anyone can be read! I’ve often heard Seekers say that other psychics or readers would tell them that they couldn’t be read, that they were blocking, or resisting, or whatever. The truth is, the psychic was the one with the problem! There’s no way, in my opinion, to actually stop someone from reading you, if they know what they’re doing. I won’t say that some people aren’t easier to read than others, but if you’re a reader, you should be able to do what you say you can do! Just like in life, you’ll always “click” better with some people than others, and certainly some people have more going on in their life at certain times than others. But by and large, if someone who has any degree of experience in their field tells you that you can’t be read, run, don’t walk to someone else! You wouldn’t be happy with that person’s reading, anyway, as it was probably not coming from the right place. (By that I mean they’re likely not always using their intuition but rather other means, including reading body language, or using superficial meanings for cards or other tools, to give a reading. If the Seeker isn’t responding in as positive way, they’ll blame the Seeker, not their own lack of psychic ability!)

What will a reading do for you?

There are as many reasons to have a reading as there are people! However, I find that we all have the same general interests or problems: romance, finance, career, family, health, and then deceased loved ones, past lives, angels, spirit guides, and general metaphysical questions. Just about everyone I see will have at least one of these topics as the main reason for their reading, but most people are interested in just about all of them!

By far, most of my clients are women, and most of their problems relate to their relationships, whether they are with romantic partners or family members, close friends, or people at work. Career and money questions are the second big focus, and in my readings, the deceased loved ones are right up there, (if you’ll parden the pun) since that is one of the things I’m really known for. My forte is tuning in to people, either dead or alive, and what they’re like, what they’re thinking and feeling, and what they’re likely to do next is what people want to know.

I can tune into someone by touching them, holding a picture, knowing their name, or even without - I can just ask for information “about the person X is thinking of” or “about the person who ran into X” or using some such question, without knowing anything to identify the person in question. For some reason, I’m able to almost become the person I’m tuning into (the same with animals) and can tell what they’re like in personality, what they’re feeling, especially with regards to another person or subject, and what issues they’re dealing with. I can help identify blocks, resistances and problems for that person, as well as the strengths, talents and skills. Many times I can describe them physically, too, but the hardest thing for me to come up with is a name! Don’t ask me why, but names are not my strong point! LOL!

I’ve often been asked to tune into present and potential employees, as well as to describe patients for doctors and therapists. I can feel what they’re feeling and usually know in advance what they will do next, which way they’ll turn, and what they’re hoping to accomplish. This is especially useful if we’re tuning into a mate or spouse, or a boss, or a child, so that the Seeker, the person having the reading, can make better decisions themselves, or find a way to perhaps help or guide that person. Sometimes it’s best to know these things so they can avoid further contact and thus future problems with that person! In any case, we all have questions in our dealings with others, and that’s where a reading can be so helpful.

Of course, it’s also helpful to know that a new job is around the corner, or that there’s a new baby on the way, or that the house will sell soon, etc. Many times people have readings when it seems like nothing is happening in their lives, and the reading will tell why that is, and what is coming up next. However, most people come to me when they’re in transition - going from one chapter of their lives to a new one - and I help them to see what it’s all about, why they have created this particular change in their lives, and what it will take to make the transition as easy and painless as possible.

It’s most important to me to teach my clients the “why” of it all, not just tell them the “what”! I believe we create and manifest our lives through our thoughts and beliefs, our intentions, our fears, and needs and desires. Love and the need for it, the lack of it, and the human and spiritual relationship to it is the basis of everything for us. As far as I’m concerned, that’s what everything boils down to in the end, so if we know that in advance, we can choose our actions and reactions a little more carefully. My readings always contain this type of information, along with the answers to the “superficial” questions people have.

Have you ever had a Psychic Reading?

I hear from a lot of people who’ve never had readings, or just little “play” readings with friends who fool around with the tarot cards, or the Ouija board. I like to think that a reading is like sitting down with a good friend who just happens to be a great listener, therapist, teacher and intuitive all in one! In my readings, we get very comfortable and then I just start talking, after holding your hands for a minute. While holding your hands, I give a silent prayer in my head for help and healing. I don’t use any other tools of the trade, and obviously don’t really need to do that since I can read for people who aren’t present! But because I’m channeling, that means the tool is me! That’s why it’s called a medium, because I’m the medium through which the information flows, like a telephone is a medium or a television is a medium. I tune into my Spirit Guides, who run the show, and they are getting information from your Guides, and from our Higher Selves, and from the Universe, as well as from deceased loved ones, and also from the Akashic Records. The information tends to come out in a rush at first, as they’ve been waiting to say certain things to you for a while! Then I slow down and ask if you have any questions. If you do, that steers me in a certain direction; if you don’t, then I silently ask what is the most important thing we need to cover next, and it just starts coming out of my mouth! LOL! But if a person seems stuck, I’ll gently ask what prompted them to get a reading, or I’ll ask if they’d like to tune into a deceased loved one, or if they have a romantic partner or child they’d like to ask about. Usually those are most people’s primary topics of interest, so we launch into one of those subjects, and we’re off and running! If we have time, we’ll go into past lives and Spirit Guides, unless of course that’s what they came for in the beginning! Usually most people are surprised at how quickly the time is up, and have questions after it’s all over! That’s why I encourage people to start making their list when they make their appointment, so they don’t forget anything once they get there.

Hi - this is my first post!

My name is Debbie and I’m a Psychic Medium or Channeler. I’ve been very curious about blogs and finally decided to take the plunge and start one! I hope I’ll be able to help people with their questions about what I do, metaphysical and spiritual subjects, and anything else that might come up. I hope to hear from lots of people who have in interest in the same things I do, like psychic readings, the Other Side (Life after Death and Communication with the Dead), Reincarnation, Spirit Guides, Past Lives, Angels, and New Age philosophy and holistic healing.

Thanks for visiting my blog!
